Algeria’s Sonatrach, Mauritania’s SMH Ink Training Contract

The Sonatrach Group signed a contract with the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company (SMH) on Thursday in Nouakchott, Mauritania, to enhance the skills of SMH staff in management and cross-functional roles, according to a statement from the state-owned group.

The agreement was signed by Souad Abdallah, Director of the Sonatrach Management Academy (SMA), and Taleb Khyar, Vice-CEO of the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company, in the presence of Smain Alatou, Sonatrach’s Executive Director of Human Resources, and Mohamed Khodja, Director of the Algerian Petroleum Institute (IPA).

The contract aims to strengthen bilateral relations between the two companies and promote the exchange of expertise. It enables SMH to benefit from Sonatrach’s expertise through tailored training programs designed to meet the needs of the Mauritanian partner, the statement noted.

This agreement is part of the strategic cooperation between Algeria and Mauritania in the field of skills development and training, the statement concluded.
