
The Algerian Company for the Marketing and Distribution of Petroleum Products (Naftal) signed, on Monday in Algiers, a commercial contract with the German tire manufacturer Continental, on the importation of 1.5 million units intended for light vehicles and heavy trucks.
The contract was signed by Khaled Laimeche, director of Naftal’s marketing branch, and the director of Continental for North Africa, Bulent Erdogan.
Chaired by Naftal’s CEO, Djamel Cherdoud, the signing ceremony aw attended by Continental’s executive director for Europe, Africa and the Middle East, Hoyos Ferdinand, via videoconference, as well as the secretary general of Naftal’s national union, Abdelhak Omrani and the company’s executive managers.
For him, the implementation of this partnership will offer consumers “premium quality tires at competitive prices, with price reductions estimated between 35% and 55% for products of the same category, leading to a significant price decrease,” he said.
The contract provides for the importation of 1 million tires for light vehicles and 500,000 tires for heavy trucks.
