Algeria’s FM Joins UN Security Council Debate on AI, Global Security

Algeria’s Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairfs, Ahmed Attaf, took part Wednesday evening in a high-level UN Security Council debate on the links between artificial intelligence and global peace and security.
The meeting was convened at the initiative of South Korea, which holds the rotating presidency of the Council for September.
Attaf’s participation aimed to present Algeria’s vision for the future of global AI governance and to uphold the right of African countries to keep pace with ongoing technological revolutions, the Foreign Ministry said.
