KUALA LUMPUR – The national deaf karate team secured four medals (two golds, one silver, and one bronze) at the World Deaf Karate Championships 2024 (15-20 December) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, said the Algerian Sports Federation for the Deaf.
The two gold medals were secured by Youcef Hassani (+84kg) and Kara Hadj (-84kg). Amani Kadra (-50kg) clinched the silver medal in the women’s category, while Mohamed Larbi (-67kg) took the bronze medal.
Led by national coach Idiri Zaidi, the national deaf team is competing in the world event with a team consisting of eight men and one woman.
