Algeria’s Cap Blanc Desalination Plant: A Testament to ‘Victorious Algeria,’ Says Tebboune

On Thursday in Oran, Algeria’s President Abdelmadjid Tebboune announced that the completion of the seawater desalination plant at Cap Blanc in under 26 months exemplifies what he describes as “victorious Algeria.” He stated, “We have reached a stage of monumental accomplishments in record time and with the latest technologies.”
After reviewing two technical presentations regarding the seawater desalination facility, the President observed that “thanks to the determination of everyone—from the ordinary worker to the highest executive—this challenge has been successfully met.” He further remarked, “Consider independent Algeria: look at where it started and where it stands now. We are witnessing remarkable achievements in an impressively short period, made possible by cutting-edge technology.”
The President emphasized that “the execution of a project of this magnitude within 26 months, or even less, is what we refer to as victorious Algeria.”
“I cannot find adequate words to express my gratitude to all those who contributed to the realization of this significant project. Congratulations to Algeria and its people,” he added.
With a production capacity of 300,000 cubic meters per day, the plant will be connected for distribution to six wilayas in the western region of the country. The Algerian Water Company (ADE) will begin supplying residents of Oran with drinking water from this facility gradually starting today.
