Algeria’s Boughali Participates in the WCSP Preparatory Meeting

The President of Algeria’s National People’s Assembly (APN), Brahim Boughali, attended the second preparatory meeting for the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliaments 2025, which took place in Geneva on Friday, as stated in a press release from the APN.

In his remarks, Boughali outlined the main themes and recommendations of the conference and emphasized “the importance of enriching the discussions, particularly on issues of peace, migration, and the respect for human rights,” according to the same source.

During the meeting, chaired by Tulia Ackson, President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), Boughali asserted “the significance of including the contribution of parliaments to the implementation of UN resolutions, the imperative of adhering to international legality, and support for just causes” on the agenda. He also underscored “the necessity for parliaments to urge their governments to assist countries most affected by extreme climatic events and to establish early warning systems, especially for African nations,” the statement added.
