Algeria’s Army General continues official visit to South Korea (MDN)

Algeria’s Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army (ANP), visited on Wednesday, the fourth day of his official trip to the Republic of Korea, the companies Satrec Initiative and Hanwha Aerospace, the Ministry of National Defence (MDN) said in a statement.
“As part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea, at the invitation of the Korean Minister of Defence, Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defence and Chief of Staff of the ANP, visited on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, along with the accompanying delegation, the companies Satrec Initiative and Hanwha Aerospace, located in the city of Daejeon, where he learned about their industrial and technological capabilities and discussed potential areas of cooperation in aerospace and defence,” the statement said.
The first stop was at Satrec Initiative, a company specialized in the aerospace industry, where the Army General “noted the high level of technological advancement achieved by this company, particularly in satellite systems, satellite navigation development, and artificial intelligence solutions for space image analysis.”
This visit represented “an opportunity for the Army General to explore the company’s significant industrial capacities and to discuss bilateral cooperation avenues in technical expertise exchange, technical training, and technology transfer,” the statement added.
Subsequently, the Army General and his delegation visited the headquarters of Hanwha Aerospace, where “detailed presentations were given on the company’s promising industrial capacities, particularly in aviation, aerospace, defence, and electronic defence systems.”
“Hanwha Aerospace is considered one of the world’s largest companies in developing space launch vehicles, artillery systems, armoured vehicles, and missiles, with its production range extending to naval systems and ship and submarine engines,” the statement noted.
The Army General “praised the impressive level he observed,” expressing “his admiration for both the human resources and the cutting-edge technological equipment,” the statement continued.
For their part, the Korean company’s officials expressed “their desire to explore opportunities for an effective partnership with Algeria,” the MDN concluded.
