Algerian Sonatrach Subsidiary Wins Prestigious “Quality Choice Prize 2025” in Stockholm
The National Well Services Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Algerian Sonatrach, has been awarded the prestigious “Quality Choice Prize 2025” by the European Society for Quality Research (ESQR), according to a statement released Friday by the state-owned group.
This marks the second consecutive year that the ESQR has honored the National Well Services Company, following its “Best Quality Leadership Award” last year.
The award ceremony took place on Thursday at the Scandic Grand Central Hotel in Stockholm, Sweden. The company’s CEO, Abdelghafour Ghellab, received the prize in the presence of senior executives from the company and the Algerian ambassador to Sweden.
Headquartered in Switzerland, the ESQR recognizes organizations that uphold ethical values and demonstrate exceptional success in quality management. The award celebrates entities that maximize service efficiency through excellence-driven practices.
The prize is regarded as a new milestone in the company’s track record for quality and leadership. It is also seen as international recognition of the National Well Services Company’s leading role in quality practices, and as proof of its ability to innovate, excel, and meet commitments to partners and clients. This aligns with Sonatrach’s overarching strategy and global standards.
Prior to the award ceremony, a conference was held in the morning featuring diplomats, corporate leaders, international quality experts, and academics. During the event, CEO Ghellab delivered a speech highlighting the company’s ability to adapt to the latest technological advancements. He emphasized the company’s strategy of continuous process improvement, investment in digital transformation, and human capital, as well as its focus on quality and environmental standards.
Ghellab also praised the continuous support of Algerian Sonatrach and its vital role in creating the conditions necessary for achieving this distinguished recognition.
