This meeting marked a farewell visit as he concluded his tenure as Algeria’s ambassador to Vietnam.

During the occasion, the Vietnamese president congratulated Sofiane Chaib on the trust bestowed upon him by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who appointed him as Secretary of State for the national community abroad. He expressed hope that, in his new role and drawing on the respect he earned during his ambassadorship, Chaib would contribute to the ongoing development and deepening of the historical friendship between the two countries across various fields.

The meeting also provided President Luong Cuong an opportunity to acknowledge Chaib’s efforts during his diplomatic mission in Vietnam and his contributions to strengthening the traditional bonds between the two nations.

In this context, and in recognition of Algeria’s significant role and status in Africa, the Vietnamese president underscored the importance that his country places on its longstanding relations and close cooperation with Algeria. He expressed confidence that both nations will continue to enhance their collaboration across all areas, including economic, commercial, cultural, educational, and investment sectors.

Both parties emphasized the necessity of aligning their positions in various international and regional forums and working together towards peace, stability, and sustainable development on both continents and globally.
