Algerian Secretary of State Received by South Sudan’s President

Bakhta Selma Mansouri, Algerian Secretary of State for African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and special envoy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, was received by South Sudan’s President, Salva Kiir, during her visit to Juba. This information was reported in a communiqué from the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs on Wednesday.

During their meeting, the Secretary of State presented a letter from President Tebboune to his South Sudanese counterpart, conveying fraternal greetings and expressing a strong desire to enhance bilateral cooperation while contributing to security and development in South Sudan, as clarified in the communiqué.

In response, President Salva Kiir expressed his heartfelt gratitude for this significant visit, which he noted reflects the deep friendship and solidarity between the two nations. He also praised Algeria’s positive role on the African stage, particularly its steadfast support for the people of South Sudan, according to the same source.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both parties to exchange views on the bilateral relations between Algeria and South Sudan, and to discuss strategies for enhancing cooperation across various fields, the communiqué concluded.
