Algerian Press Highlights Final Day of Presidential Campaign, Emphasizes Voter Turnout and Election Significance

The Algerian press has been heavily focused on the electoral campaign, which ends on Tuesday at midnight, in preparation for the September 7 presidential election. Le Soir d’Algérie described this day as the “last chance to convince” voters, while other newspapers like El Moudjahid and Horizons emphasized the importance of voting and the conclusion of the campaign.

Several newspapers reported that the electoral campaign was conducted in a calm atmosphere, with Algerians abroad already starting to vote. Notably, El Watan and Echorouk highlighted that the final rallies in the capital are politically significant, and Echaab noted the use of social media by candidates to engage young voters.

The Ministry of Interior has implemented special measures for the election, including postponing sports and cultural events and closing weekly markets, as reported by L’ECHO d’Algérie. Overall, the press has stressed the importance of voter turnout and the significance of the election for Algeria’s future.
