Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune received a condolence message on Monday from African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, who expressed his deep sorrow over the passing of former President and Mujahid Liamine Zéroual.
According to a statement from the Algerian presidency, the Chairperson of the Commission extended his deepest condolences to the Algerian government and people, as well as to the family of the late president, affirming the African Union Commission’s solidarity with the Algerian nation during this sad time.
The Chairperson of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, also praised the late leader’s qualities and virtues—marked by sacrifice and dignity—highlighting his ability to steer the country through a critical period in its history with courage and wisdom.
