Algerian President issues directives to ministers and officials regarding the capital’s modernisation

ALGIERS – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune emphasised on Monday that the plan for the development and modernisation of Algiers is set to open promising future prospects for the capital, owing to the important strategic projects it includes, according to Algeria Press Service.

During the presentation on strategic vision for the capital’s development and modernisation, which President Tebboune presided over, he highlighted that “this plan is well-received and highly acceptable, providing our capital with promising future horizons,” the source said.

The Algerian President stressed the need to establish clear timelines and incorporate them into five-year plans, in order to monitor progress and allocate the necessary budget, APS added.

Moreover, President Tebboune added that “Once these projects in Algiers are completed, we will proceed with other Wilayas, such as Constantine, which deserves its fair share of development, given its significance as a city of history and resistance, along with other Wilayas in the east, west, centre, and south of the country.”
