ALGIERS, Oct. 15, 2025 – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on Wednesday presided over a ceremony in Algiers honoring national athletes who earned medals at the World Para Athletics Championships in New Delhi, the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, the Arab Basketball Championship in Bahrain, as well as the national football team, which qualified for the 2026 World Cup.
The event took place at the People’s Palace and was attended by senior state officials, government members, top sports administrators, and representatives from the national sports community.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, President Tebboune posed for a commemorative photo with the honored athletes.
