Algerian President Departs Algiers for Addis Ababa to Attend 38th AU Summit

ALGIERS, February 13, 2025 – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, departed from Algiers on Thursday, heading to Addis Ababa in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. He is set to lead the Algerian delegation at the 38th ordinary session of the African Union (AU) summit of Heads of State and Government.

Before his departure, the President listened to the national anthem in the VIP lounge of Houari Boumediene International Airport. He also reviewed a formation of the Republican Guard that honored him with a salute.

At the time of his departure, the President was welcomed by Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui, the delegate minister to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, General Said Chanegriha, as well as Boualem Boualem, the Chief of Staff at the Presidency.
