Commissioned by Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Sifi Ghrieb arrived on Tuesday in Bejaia for a working visit, where he will preside over the ceremony marking the start of work on the project to develop and exploit the zinc and lead mine located between the municipalities of Amizour and Tala Hamza.
This visit falls within the framework of implementing the strategy approved by the President of the Republic, which aims to make the mining sector a strategic pillar of sustainable economic development, by reducing reliance on hydrocarbons and promoting the diversification of the national economy, the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement.
The project also represents a pivotal step in reviving mining activity and strengthening industrial sovereignty, the statement said.
