
ALGIERS, March 14, 2025 – Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui received an honor from the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa (ACNOA) during its 22nd General Assembly, which began on Friday at the Abdelatif Rahal International Conference Center in Algiers.
The award was presented by ACNOA President Mustapha Berraf and was accepted by Sports Minister Walid Sadi, who was also recognized during the event for his recent election to the executive board of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) at an extraordinary General Assembly held in Cairo.
“We pay tribute to Larbaoui for his illustrious career as a handball player and for his dedication as Prime Minister. We take pride in his achievements and wish him continued success in his political journey,” stated Berraf.
In addition to honoring Larbaoui and Sadi, ACNOA acknowledged German Thomas Bach, who is concluding his term as President of the International Olympic Committee, and Abderrahmane Hammad, who has been re-elected for a second consecutive term as head of the Algerian Olympic and Sports Committee (COA).
During its latest assembly, ACNOA also awarded two African Olympic Merit Medals. The first medal was presented to Gustavo Dias Vaz Da Conceiçao, President of the Angolan Olympic Committee, while the second was awarded to Sergio Mané, his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, in recognition of their significant contributions.
