Algerian Pavilion at Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025 Showcases Rich Heritage and Culture

The Algerian pavilion at the “Osaka Kansai Expo 2025” in Japan offers visitors a unique opportunity to explore both the tangible and intangible heritage of Algeria.

Covering an area of 440 square meters, the national pavilion presents Algeria as a continental nation renowned for its vast landscapes, rich culture, and millennia-old history.

Among the highlighted tourist and cultural sites are the prehistoric location of Aïn Boucherit (Sétif), rock engravings from Tassili, and remnants of Phoenician, Roman, and Islamic civilizations. Furthermore, the pavilion features exhibits and presentations on Algeria’s intangible heritage, showcasing the essence of Algerian culture through customs, traditions, arts, and crafts.

This immersive experience is enhanced by digital audiovisual multimedia tools, including a virtual guide named “Nour,” an AI-generated character designed to introduce visitors to Algeria through screens accompanied by various styles of Algerian music. An interactive screen enables visitors to select and highlight the aspects they find most impressive in sectors that have seen significant advancements, such as housing, health, environment, industry, education, agriculture, and more.

It is worth noting that Algeria’s participation in this international event, which runs from April 13 to October 13, 2025, aims to bolster its presence on the global stage and establish new partnerships across diverse fields.

As a reminder, Algeria has previously participated in world exhibitions and international expositions in Montreal (1967), Osaka (1970), Seville (1992), Lisbon (1998), Zaragoza (2008), Shanghai (2010), Yeosu (2012), Milan (2015), Astana (2017), and Dubai (2020).
