Algerian Nationals Repatriated from Lebanon Arrive in Algiers

total of 306 Algerian nationals repatriated from Lebanon arrived on Friday at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers. This operation was carried out following the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to support members of the national community residing in Lebanon.

The repatriation involved two flights specifically arranged for this purpose, departing from Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut to Cairo International Airport. Subsequently, Air Algeria facilitated their return to Algeria.

This operation marks the second repatriation of its kind, after a similar event in August 2024, which allowed over 125 Algerian citizens to return home.

On this occasion, Rachid Medah, the Director General of Consular Affairs and the National Community Abroad, stated: “In accordance with the President’s instructions, a crisis cell was established at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at the onset of the Zionist aggression against Gaza to assess the situation of the national community across the region. The cell has maintained contact with Algeria’s embassies in Cairo, Beirut, Damascus, and Amman to closely monitor the circumstances of our community and explore all necessary repatriation options.”

“We have successfully repatriated 306 Algerian nationals along with their spouses of other nationalities, thanks to the dedicated efforts made,” Medah remarked in a statement at Houari Boumediene Airport.

The repatriated individuals expressed their gratitude to the President of the Republic and the authorities for their commitment to ensuring their welfare and facilitating their return under optimal conditions.

The repatriation operation for Algerian nationals from Lebanon commenced on Friday, in line with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s high directives regarding the care of members of the Algerian community living in that country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured in a statement that all necessary resources were mobilized to ensure the success of this operation and facilitate the safe return of community members to their homeland, adding that further repatriation operations will be organized if needed.
