Algiers, July 25, 2024 – The Algerian national football team will face Equatorial Guinea on September 5 at Miloud Hadefi Stadium in Oran (20:00) as part of the first round of Group E qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 (December 21, 2025 – January 18, 2026), according to a statement released Thursday by the Algerian Football Federation.
In preparation for the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025, the national team will hold a training camp from September 2 to 10, within FIFA dates. Following their opening match, the Algerian team will travel directly to Monrovia to play against Liberia as part of the second round of the CAN 2025 qualifiers.
The other participating teams have been distributed across eleven groups. The top two teams from each group will qualify for the final tournament, except for the host country’s group, from which only one team will qualify alongside the host nation.
During the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 (postponed to 2024) held in Côte d’Ivoire, the Algerian team was eliminated in the first round for the second consecutive time following the 2021 edition (postponed to 2022) in Cameroon.
