Algerian Minister Outlines Economic Reform Vision at UN Summit

Acting on behalf of the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria’s Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Abdelhak Saihi, is taking part in the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the ministry said Wednesday.
Speaking at the first Biennial Summit for a Sustainable, Inclusive and Resilient Global Economy, chaired by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Saihi presented Algeria’s approach to reforming the international financial system and reinforcing the foundations of sustainable development, according to the ministry’s statement.
He outlined a vision built on three pillars: creating a partnership based on fairness and shared responsibility, addressing structural imbalances in the global economy through inclusive reforms, and fulfilling international commitments on the Sustainable Development Goals and good governance.
Saihi stressed that Algeria’s approach reflects its “steadfast commitment to collective efforts to build a fairer and more balanced global economic system, in the interest of peace, stability and development worldwide,” the statement said.
