Algerian Minister of Trade Visits ‘Baladna’ Factory in Doha

Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, visited the Baladna factory in Doha on Wednesday as part of his official trip to Qatar, according to a statement from the ministry.

This visit aimed to enhance economic cooperation and investment between Algeria and Qatar. Officials at the company provided a thorough presentation of the technologies employed at the factory, its production capacity, and its role in fulfilling the demands of the Qatari local market, the statement indicated.

Zitouni also received an in-depth overview of Baladna’s integrated project in the Adrar region, describing it as an ambitious initiative that underscores the strong relationship between Algeria and Qatar and represents a significant advancement in economic collaboration between the two nations.

Commending the advanced technologies utilized at the Baladna factory, the minister remarked, “Algeria is pleased with these investments, which reflect the robust economic ties between our countries, a testament to the economic reforms initiated by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune,” the source added.

At the conclusion of his factory visit, Zitouni emphasized Baladna’s contribution to bolstering economic relations between Algeria and Qatar, expressing optimism for more fruitful partnerships in the future.

During his stay in Qatar, the Minister of Commerce and Export Promotion also toured various booths at the Algerian Products Exhibition in Doha, where he engaged with representatives from 150 participating companies.

He expressed satisfaction with the positive reception this exhibition, inaugurated on Tuesday, received from visitors and Qatari investors, highlighting that such events can pave the way for new opportunities for cooperation and partnership between entrepreneurs from both nations.

The minister stressed the significance of direct sales, which allow Qatari and foreign citizens to discover and easily acquire Algerian products.

This exhibition, the first of its kind in Qatar, marks “an important step toward strengthening economic relations between Algeria and Qatar,” as he praised the collaborative efforts of Algerian and Qatari companies in enhancing trade and industrial cooperation.
