Algerian Minister of Energy Welcomes the President of Turkish “Has Ozcelik”

The Algerian Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, met on Thursday with Murat Ozcelik, the president of the Turkish mining company “Has Ozcelik.” Their discussions centered on potential cooperation opportunities between Algerian companies and the Turkish firm in the mining sector, according to a statement from the ministry.

During this meeting, held at the ministry’s headquarters with officials in attendance, both parties explored various business and investment prospects within the mining industry, particularly involving the “Sonarim” Group and “Has Ozcelik.” They highlighted opportunities in the extraction and processing of mineral raw materials in Algeria, as reported by the same source.

Arkab emphasized the significant investment and partnership opportunities available in Algeria regarding the research, exploration, extraction, and processing of both ferrous and non-ferrous mineral resources. He noted that these opportunities are supported by a favorable investment climate established by the new investment law, as well as strong relationships between local companies and Turkish firms operating in the energy and mining sectors.

In response, Ozcelik conveyed his company’s keen interest in investing in Algeria, specifically in the extraction and processing of mineral resources such as phosphate, gold, feldspar, and aluminum. He also expressed a desire to collaborate on infrastructure development and the local manufacturing of equipment through mutually beneficial partnership projects, as concluded in the statement.
