ALGIERS – The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI) has embarked on the second stage phase of its reforms to foster the efficiency of the single window service and improve the land plots distribution process, said Tuesday the Agency’s Director General, Omar Rekkache.
Speaking at the Government-Walis meeting, held at the International Conference Center (CIC) and opened by the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Rekkache said: “We have effectively launched the second phase in the implementation of investment-related reforms after we achieved important milestones and overcame several obstacles.”
“The time has come to step up the pace through the effective implementation of a single window where investors will benefit from all services in a single location, without having to travel to different administrations,” he said
The AAPI is working with various sectors, notably housing and the environment, to amend regulatory provisions and thus enshrine the principle of granting authorizations at the Agency’s single windows.
As part of implementing these reforms, the AAPI is working to improve investment guidance and introduce several improvements to the assessment network in consultation with the various stakeholders. This will ensure that “serious” investors with “viable” projects for the national economy receive land plots “in complete transparency,” he stressed.
Rekkache also praised the restoration of confidence among local and foreign investors, under “a strong political will translated into concrete measures on the ground.”
