
The Algerian Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, was received on Tuesday in Antananarivo as a special envoy of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune by Madagascar’s President Andry Rajoelina, according to a statement from the Ministry.
During the meeting, Saihi “handed over a handwritten letter from, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to the Malagasy President,” the statement added. This meeting was an opportunity to highlight the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and to renew their shared commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including the importance of revitalizing cooperation frameworks between the two nations.
The two Presidents exchanged sincere greetings through the special envoy, reaffirming the need to consolidate the strategic partnership between Algeria and Madagascar, particularly in key areas of cooperation such as solar energy, pharmaceutical manufacturing, agriculture and rural development, as well as the exchange of expertise in industry and tourism, and the strengthening of training programs to meet the aspirations of both nations.
The meeting, attended by the Algerian Ambassador to Madagascar, also emphasized the importance of coordinating efforts to elevate bilateral relations to match the ambitions of the leaders and peoples of both countries.
For his part, Rajoelina expressed pride in the privileged relations between Algeria and Madagascar, praising Algeria’s pivotal role on the continental level, and expressing his “full appreciation” for President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The Malagasy President also reaffirmed Madagascar’s strong support for any Algerian initiative or proposal that serves the interests of the two brotherly nations, the statement concluded.
