Algerian, French FMs Discuss Middle East Developments and Their Regional Repercussions

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call on Monday from his French counterpart, the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Noël Barrot, during which they reviewed the current state of bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as the prospects available for them.
The two sides also exchanged views on the situation in the Sahel-Saharan region, as well as on developments related to the process of resolving the Western Sahara issue, the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
On the other hand, the two ministers discussed the serious developments taking place in the Middle East and their grave repercussions at both the regional and international levels, the statement said.
In this context, particular emphasis was placed on the situation in Lebanon, as it represents a source of shared concern for both countries, the source added.
