Algerian Foreign Ministry Announces Regularization Procedure for Citizens Abroad in Vulnerable Situation

The Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Monday that the citizens abroad who are in a vulnerable or illegal situation, and who are subject to judicial or administrative proceedings related to minor acts affecting public order or similar incidents can regularize their status and return to their homeland in an organized manner.
The announcement is made in implementation of the decision by Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune concerning the regularization of the status of those concerned.
To this end, the Ministry invites the concerned individuals to approach the Algerian diplomatic and consular missions in their countries of residence to submit regularization requests and provide the required documents to benefit from this procedure, on the condition that they refrain from repeating the acts for which they are being prosecuted.
In this regard, the Algerian ministry reaffirmed the State’s commitment to supporting the members of the national community living abroad, protecting them, and addressing their concerns, in accordance with the high-level directives of the country’s senior authorities.
