Algerian FM Receives Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs

ALGIERS – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Wednesday, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkiye, Burhanettin Duran, who is paying an official visit to Algeria as part of the second session of political consultations between the two countries, the ministry said in a press release.

This meeting enabled to review the results of the second session of political consultations, whose work was co-chaired by the Turkish Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lounès Magramane, said the press release.

During the meeting, the two parties “highlighted the major achievements made in favor of strengthening the Algerian-Turkish partnership, notably in economic domains,” emphasizing “the need to intensify joint efforts to reach the goals set by the leaders of the two countries, the President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his brother, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and this, in anticipation of the next session of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council,” added the same source.

The meeting also focused on regional and international questions of common interest, notably the developments of the Palestinian cause and the situation in the Gulf and in the Sahelo-Saharan region, according to the press release.
