Algerian FM Receives Phone Call From Jordanian Counterpart

ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Wednesday a phone call from Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a brotherly country, Ayman Safadi, according to a statement from the ministry.

During this conversation, “the two ministers addressed the consequences of the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, expressing their deep concern over the serious escalation in the situation in the region,” the source said.

“They also reiterated their condemnation of this aggression and called on the UN Security Council to take urgent measures, in accordance with its responsibilities,” according to the same source.

“The conversation was also an opportunity to coordinate two countries’ efforts in anticipation of the extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) concerning developments in the situation in the Middle East region, scheduled for June 21 in Istanbul,” the source concluded.
