Algerian FM Receives Phone Call from His Jordanian Counterpart

Ahmed Attaf, the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, received a phone call on Thursday from Ayman Safadi, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a nation with which Algeria shares close ties, according to a statement from the ministry.

During their conversation, the two ministers addressed “the latest developments concerning the situation in the Gaza Strip following the resumption of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people,” as reported by the same source.

Both ministers expressed “deep concern over the disruption of efforts to reinforce the ceasefire and meet the urgent humanitarian and reconstruction needs of the Palestinian people—a disruption that threatens the prospects for a lasting and just resolution to the Palestinian issue,” the statement noted.

The two parties agreed to enhance their communication and coordination regarding the Palestinian cause and other matters of mutual interest within the framework of their common organizations, particularly the Arab League, the communiqué concluded.
