Algerian FM Receives Call From Minister for European, International Affairs of Austria

ALGIERS – The Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received a phone call on Wednesday from the Minister for European and International Affairs of the Republic of Austria, Beate Meinl-Reisinger, the ministry said in a press release.

The phone call enabled to “review the state and prospects of bilateral relations between Algeria and Austria, with both parties expressing their satisfaction with the positive results achieved in traditional areas of cooperation between the two countries, particularly railway construction and energy with its various conventional and renewable sources, notably green hydrogen,” said the press release.

The two ministers also agreed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand it into new fields vital to both nations’ development, such as mechanical industries and water resources,” according to the same source.

The two ministers further “exchanged views and analyses on the current situation in the Sahel-Saharan region, the Middle East, and the international fora in general.”

In this regard, both parties emphasized “the imperative of working to revive the role of diplomacy in resolving crises, while strengthening coordination and the exchange of experiences and expertise, particularly as Austria prepares to join the Security Council,” concluded the press release.
