Algerian FM Received by Tunisian President Kaïs Saïed

On Wednesday in Tunis, the Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, was received by the President of the Tunisian Republic, Kaïs Saïed, during his official visit as a special envoy of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, according to a statement from the ministry.

During the meeting, the minister conveyed “the greetings of the President of the Republic to his brother, President Kaïs Saïed, along with his best wishes to the brotherly Tunisian people on the occasion of Tunisia’s commemoration of Martyrs’ Day,” the statement noted.

In response, President Kaïs Saïed “charged the Minister of State with delivering his greetings and gratitude to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, emphasizing the complementary efforts of both countries in resisting colonialism, as well as highlighting the various chapters of mutual support and solidarity between the two brotherly peoples, which reflect their shared destiny,” the same source indicated.

Attaf also “delivered a message from the President of the Republic to President Kaïs Saïed regarding the advancement of Algerian-Tunisian relations,” expressing “President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s satisfaction with the high level of coordination and bilateral cooperation achieved between the two nations.”

The meeting also provided an opportunity for an exchange of views on international and regional situations, particularly the latest developments concerning the Palestinian issue, characterized by existential threats aimed at undermining efforts to establish a sovereign and independent Palestinian state, which is regarded as a just and definitive solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict,” the statement concluded.
