Algerian FM Engages in High-Level Talks in New York

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, engaged in several high-level bilateral talks in New York today, on the sidelines of Algeria’s presidency of the United Nations Security Council.
The meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres focused on joint efforts to uphold the principles of the UN Charter and promote global peace and development, in light of Algeria’s priorities during its presidency of the Security Council.
Attaf and Guterres also discussed various current global and regional issues, with particular emphasis on the recent developments in the occupied Palestinian territories following the implementation of the ceasefire agreement.
Additionally, Attaf met with several foreign ministers from friendly and allied countries, including Rwanda’s Foreign Minister, Olivier Jean Patrick Nduhungirehe, Somalia’s Foreign Minister, Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, Slovenia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Tanja Fajon, and Libya’s Acting Foreign Minister, Al Taher Salem Al Baour. These discussions revolved around strengthening bilateral relations and addressing key regional and international challenges.
