Algerian Council of the Nation Joins NATO Parliamentary Assembly Session in Montreal

The Algerian Council of the Nation will participate in the 70th annual session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which begins on Friday in Montreal, Canada, as stated in a release from the upper house of Parliament issued on Thursday.
“Delegated by Mr. Salah Goudjil, President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Aissa Naili, Chairman of the National Defense Committee, and Mr. Lakhdar Moulay Saadoun, a member of the Council of the Nation, will attend this significant session,” the statement clarified.
The agenda for this session, which is set to continue until next Monday, includes “the examination of reports from the Assembly’s permanent committees and its Mediterranean and Middle East Special Group, focusing on issues such as combating sexual violence related to conflicts, promoting technological advancement, and exploring responsible applications of AI in military contexts,” according to the announcement.
The Algerian Parliament regularly engages in the meetings of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly as a “Mediterranean partner member,” the source further noted.
