Algerian-Belarusian Economic Forum Culminates in Five Partnership Agreements

Five partnership agreements in the commercial and industrial sectors were signed between Algerian and Belarusian companies and organizations, as part of the Bilateral Economic Forum, held Monday in Algiers.

The first agreement concerns a partnership protocol between the Algerian Company for the Manufacture of Commercial and Industrial Vehicles, a subsidiary of the Ferrovial Group, and the Belarusian company Minsk Automobile Plant (MAZ), to strengthen cooperation in vehicle manufacturing.

This partnership will enable the establishment of a bus production unit at Oued El Bardi site in Bouira Province, according to Algeria Press Service (APS).

A memorandum of understanding was also signed between Algeria’s state-owned metal construction company “SNC METAL” and the Belarusian firm “AMKODOR”, along with another memorandum of understanding between the agricultural tractors company ETRAG and the Belarusian enterprise “Bobruiskagromach” to promote industrial cooperation and exchange expertise and technology.

An agreement was signed between the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and its Belarusian counterpart to establish a joint Business Council that will support businesses and facilitate trade and bilateral investment.

A cooperation agreement was also signed between the Algerian Employers’ Confederation and the Belarusian commodity exchange, opening new opportunities for cooperation and partnership between companies from both countries.
