Algerian Army Recovers Weapons and Equipment in Counterterrorism Sweep in Ain Defla

Detachments of the Algerian People’s National Army (PNA) recovered two grenades, eleven magazines, four pairs of binoculars, and several other items following a search and sweep operation in Djebel Amrouna area, in the military sector of Ain Defla, the Ministry of National Defense said on Monday in a statement.

“As part of counterterrorism operations, and following the targeted operation conducted by detachments of the People’s National Army on 1 February 2026 in Djebel Amrouna area in the military sector of Ain Defla, 1st Military Region, which resulted in the elimination of four (4) terrorists and the recovery of four (4) Kalashnikov submachine guns, continued search and sweep operation led to the recovery of two (2) grenades, eleven (11) magazines, four (4) pairs of binoculars, six mobile phones with eleven SIM cards, sixteen memory cards, and other items,” said the source.

“This operation confirms the vigilance and determination of the PNA Forces to track down the remnants of these criminals until their complete eradication,” concluded the ministry.
