Algerian and Tunisian PMs Commemorate Sakiet Sidi Youcef Anniversary

ALGIERS, February 7, 2025 – Appointed by President Algerian Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui is set to co-chair the commemoration ceremony for the 67th anniversary of the Sakiet Sidi Youcef events this Saturday in El Kef, Tunisia, together with his Tunisian counterpart, Kamel Madouri, as announced in a communiqué from the Prime Minister’s office on Friday.

According to the same source, this event will serve as “an opportunity to honor the sacrifices and shared history of the Algerian and Tunisian peoples in their struggle against French occupation to regain freedom and dignity.”

The two leaders will also explore ways to enhance bilateral cooperation, reflecting the vision shared by both countries’ presidents, Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Kaïs Saïed, aimed at establishing an effective strategic partnership between Algeria and Tunisia.

During this visit, the Prime Minister will be accompanied by Brahim Merad, the Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Planning; Laïd Rebiga, the Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders; and Sofiane Chaib, the Secretary of State to the Minister of Foreign Affairs responsible for the National Community Abroad, as stated in the communiqué.
