Algeria works on promoting women’s role in all fields

The minister of National Solidarity, Family and Women’s Affairs, Kaoutar Krikou, said Monday that Algeria works on boosting and promoting women’s role in all fields, convinced of their abilities and skills.
Krikou made the statement in an address, via video link, at the 41st session of Arab Women Committee held ahead of the 66th session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW or UNCSW), scheduled for next March.
The minister stressed that Algeria “works for strengthening and promoting women’s role in all areas, in line with its international commitments and its belief in women’s abilities and skills, as part of the implementation of the guidelines of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
She added that President Abdelamdjid Tebboune, who reiterates at every opportunity the need to involve women in national development.
“The different employment and support programmes (for women) have been strengthened, with women’s creation of their own companies, in addition to the facilitation of the (relevant) procedures.”
