Algeria Urges Action Against Zionist Violations at Emergency Meeting in Bogotá

Lounès Magramane, Secretary General of the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State and Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, at an emergency ministerial meeting in Bogotá, Colombia. The meeting focused on the serious violations of international law perpetrated by the Zionist occupation against the Palestinian people.
This urgent gathering aimed to discuss the latest developments concerning the ongoing Zionist aggression against the Palestinian populace, particularly in light of the unprecedented and severe evolution of the Palestinian issue and the humanitarian crisis confronting the Palestinian people, as stated by the ministry.
During the meeting, Magramane urged for “intensified international efforts to halt the Zionist aggression by advocating for an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and compelling the occupier to lift the restrictions obstructing the delivery of humanitarian aid.”
He also called for “protecting the two-state solution through the recognition of an independent State of Palestine” and emphasized the need to “revive the political process by involving the international community in formulating and implementing a credible initiative that ensures a just resolution, allowing the Palestinian people to establish their independent and sovereign state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with Al-Quds as its capital.”
Furthermore, the Secretary General highlighted the importance of holding the occupier accountable for “genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity committed against the Palestinian people,” denouncing desperate attempts to undermine the Palestinian cause through forced displacement and altering the legal and historical status of Jerusalem.
In conclusion, Magramane reaffirmed “Algeria’s commitment, under the enlightened leadership of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to tirelessly defend the Palestinian cause.” He underscored Algeria’s “unwavering diplomatic efforts in support of this just cause, particularly since its accession to the United Nations Security Council.”
