Algeria: UN Secretary-General congratulates President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on re-election

The Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN), Antonio Guterres, sent a message of congratulations to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune on his re-election for a second term, indicated the presidency in a statement on Monday.
“I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to you and the Algerian people on your re-election as President of the Democratic Republic of Algeria,” wrote Guterres in his message.
“I look forward to the close cooperation between the Algerian Republic and the UN, and I express my gratitude for your country’s active role at the regional and international levels, particularly within the Security Council, in establishing peace and security in Africa and around the world,” said the UN Secretary-General.
“I also want to congratulate you on the important achievements and progress made by Algeria in economic and social development,” he added.
“I take this opportunity to reaffirm the UN’s full readiness to strengthen its partnership with Algeria in promoting peace and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Please accept, Mr. President, the expression of my highest consideration.”
