Algeria–U.S. Discuss Developments in Africa and the Arab World

Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, received on Tuesday the Senior Advisor to the U.S. President for Africa, Arab, and Middle Eastern Affairs, Massad Boulos, where they highlighted the importance of strengthening the ongoing strategic dialogue between Algeria and the United States.
On this occasion, Attaf held a private meeting with Boulos, who is on an official visit to Algeria, followed by an expanded session involving members of both the Algerian and U.S. delegations, according to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The meeting provided an opportunity to review various aspects of Algerian–U.S. relations and to explore avenues for further strengthening and elevating them to the highest level, the statement said.
In this context, both sides underscored the importance of strengthening the ongoing strategic dialogue between Algeria and the United States and reaffirmed the need to sustain the positive momentum that characterizes the bilateral partnership, particularly in the economic sphere, the source added.
The two parties also exchanged views on key current issues in the Arab world and Africa, particularly developments in Libya, the Sahel and Sahara regions, as well as Western Sahara.
