Algeria, Tunisia Ink Agreement to Boost Academic, Research Cooperation

ALGIERS — A partnership agreement was signed Sunday in Algiers between Algeria and Tunisia in the field of higher education and scientific research to bring “renewed vigor” to their bilateral cooperation in this area.
The signing ceremony was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamel Baddari, and his Tunisian counterpart, Mondher Belaid, in the presence of officials from the ministries of both countries.
On this occasion, Baddari affirmed that the signing of this agreement will bring “renewed vigor to Algerian-Tunisian relations in the field of Higher Education and scientific research.”
According to the minister, the agreement includes a development plan for academic relations between Algeria and Tunisia intended to “establish a partnership between the two countries in this field” by “fostering cooperation between higher education institutions and promoting innovative solutions that benefit the two brotherly peoples.”
For his part, the Tunisian minister stressed “the importance of ramping up efforts to enhance cooperation between the two countries through a promising partnership that requires greater coordination to facilitate knowledge exchange, improve educational and research quality and strengthen the relationship between universities and their socio-economic environments.”
