
ALGIERS – Algerian Minister of Mujahideen and Rights Holders, Laïd Rebiga, took part in Ho Chi Minh City, Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in a parade commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025), according to a statement from the ministry on Thursday.
Chaired by President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Luong Cuong, this commemorative parade was attended by heads of state, government representatives and various organizations, as well as members of the accredited diplomatic corps, the same source said.
The parade featured various military units and weaponry of the Vietnamese army, in addition to popular parades.
On behalf of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Rebiga participated in the ceremony commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of South Vietnam and the reunification of the country, at the invitation of the Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bui Thanh Son.
Rebiga also met with the Vietnamese President and conveyed “the fraternal greetings of President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, and his congratulations to the friendly state and people of Vietnam, as well as his wishes for progress and prosperity to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.”
On this occasion, the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam expressed his thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic, affirming “the quality of the relations binding the two countries and his country’s aspiration to further develop bilateral cooperation to promote the historic ties between Algeria and Vietnam.”
