Algeria Submits Accession Document to Hague Apostille Convention

ALGIERS, November 5, 2025 – Algeria’s Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands was tasked, on Wednesday, with depositing Algeria’s instrument of accession to the Hague Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents (Apostille Convention), at the Permanent Bureau of the Hague Conference on Private International Law, as part of the ongoing procedures for Algeria’s accession to the Convention, according to a statement by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad, and African Affairs.
According to the same statement, “This step, which falls within the implementation of the high instructions of the country’s senior authorities to simplify and facilitate administrative and consular procedures, will allow the Convention to effectively enter into force by mid-next year, in accordance with the procedures in place for this multilateral instrument.”
