Algeria Strongly Condemns Terrorist Attack on Somali President’s Convoy

Algeria has unequivocally condemned the terrorist attack that targeted the convoy of Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud in Mogadishu, reiterating its full support for Somalia in its fight against the scourge of terrorism, according to a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs released on Wednesday.

“The Algerian government vehemently condemns the terrorist attack against His Excellency Mr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, in the capital city of Mogadishu,” the statement reads.

Expressing relief that President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud emerged uninjured from this heinous attack, Algeria extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes a swift recovery to those injured, the same source added.

“Drawing from its painful experience with the horrors of indiscriminate terrorism and fully aware of its subversive intentions, Algeria reaffirms its complete solidarity and unwavering commitment alongside Somalia, a brotherly nation, in its efforts to eradicate this threat and enhance the security and stability of the country,” the communiqué concluded.
