Algeria-Spain: Talks on Completing Airspace Development and Management Project

ALGIERS, October 15, 2025 – Algeria’s Minister of Interior, Local Authorities and Transport, Saïd Sayoud, met on Wednesday in Algiers with Spain’s Ambassador to Algeria, Fernando Moran, to discuss ways to complete the airspace development and management project, the ministry said in a statement.
The meeting, the second of its kind, held at the ministry’s headquarters, follows ongoing consultations on the project carried out by the Spanish company INDRA on behalf of the National Air Navigation Authority (ENNA), the statement added.
Held in the presence of INDRA representatives, ENNA’s director general, and ministry officials, the meeting aimed to coordinate between the parties to find amicable and definitive solutions to finalize the remaining work. The approach reflects the minister’s emphasis on rigor and efficiency in handling strategically important projects to serve the public interest and enhance Algeria’s image, the ministry noted.
Sayoud described the project as a “strategic asset benefiting both parties, strengthening ENNA’s position and Algeria’s reputation at the regional and international levels.”
He also stressed the importance of “consolidating mutual trust as the foundation of fruitful cooperation, through sincere commitment and a sense of responsibility to achieve shared objectives.”
The minister reiterated his determination to “find realistic and definitive solutions to all outstanding issues and remove obstacles to conclude this project as quickly as possible.”
Sayoud instructed the creation of a working unit, effective immediately, composed of representatives from his ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Community Abroad and African Affairs, INDRA, and the director general of the Treasury Judicial Agency.
This unit will handle pending issues and make firm decisions within a maximum of two weeks to allow the project to move forward, the statement concluded.
