Algeria-South Africa: Bilateral Discussions Across Multiple Sectors

A series of meetings were held on Friday at the Presidential Palace, involving various Algerian ministers and their South African counterparts. These discussions coincided with talks between President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and President Cyril Ramaphosa, who is currently on a state visit to Algeria.

In this context, General Said Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, along with Laid Rebiga, Minister of Mujahideen and Rights-holders, met with Angelina Motshekga, South Africa’s Minister of Defense and Veterans Affairs.

Additionally, Ahmed Attaf, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, engaged in discussions with Ronald Lamola, South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation.

Moreover, Mohamed Arkab, Minister of State for Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies, accompanied by Taha Derbal, Minister of Water Resources, held a meeting with Pemmy Majodina, South Africa’s Minister of Water and Sanitation.

The Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Tayeb Zitouni, along with Mohamed Boukhari, Minister of External Trade and Export Promotion, and Sifi Ghrieb, Minister of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production, also convened with Parks Tau, South Africa’s Minister of Trade, Industry, and Competition.

President Cyril Ramaphosa arrived in Algiers on Thursday evening for his state visit, which was extended at the invitation of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
