Algeria : Six Terrorists Eliminated and Large Cache of Ammunition Seized in Tébessa

Six (6) terrorists were eliminated, and a significant quantity of ammunition and other materials were recovered Tuesday night in Tébessa by detachments of the People’s National Army (ANP), the Algerian Ministry of National Defense (MDN) announced Wednesday in a statement.

“In the framework of the ongoing efforts deployed by our Armed Forces units in the fight against terrorism, ANP detachments eliminated, during the night of September 23, 2025, six (6) terrorists and recovered six (6) Kalashnikov-type submachine guns, as well as a large quantity of ammunition and other items, in the Tlidjene area, within the Tébessa military sector of the 5th Military Region,” the statement specified.

Army General Saïd Chanegriha, Minister Delegate to the Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, visited the operation zone, accompanied by Major General Noureddine Hambli, Commander of the 5th Military Region, to inspect the military units that took part in the operation.

On-site, General Chanegriha addressed the troops, commending their courage and valor, and conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the Algerian President, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces and Minister of National Defense. He also provided guidance, urging personnel to redouble their efforts to safeguard the nation and its citizens, and to continue combating the remnants of terrorist groups with determination and pride.

“This operation, which adds to the series of successful counterterrorism actions carried out by ANP units, once again reaffirms the determination and resolve of our forces to rid the country of the remnants of terrorist groups and to eradicate this scourge from our national territory,” the MDN concluded.
