Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion Tayeb Zitouni presided over the opening of the Algerian-Qatari Business Forum on Wednesday in Doha, Qatar. This event coincides with the Algerian Products Exhibition, which is taking place from October 22 to 26 in the Qatari capital, according to a statement from the ministry.

The forum’s inauguration was attended by representatives from the Qatari Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as well as Kamel Moula, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA), Charaf Eddine Amara, President of the National Union of Public Entrepreneurs (UNEP), Hocine Zaoui, head of the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI), and Samir Deradji, Director General of Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Commerce.

In his address at the event, Zitouni emphasized that this forum “marks a new beginning towards a close strategic partnership encompassing various sectors, under the patronage of Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of Qatar.” He expressed his gratitude to the State of Qatar for its warm hospitality and exceptional organization, reflecting the deep ties between the two countries.

He noted that Algerian-Qatari economic relations are experiencing a “qualitative leap,” with Algeria aiming to “double the volume of trade compared to the 80 million USD recorded in 2023.”

The inaugural edition of the Algerian Products Exhibition in Doha features participation from over 150 Algerian companies showcasing a diverse array of products, including distinguished agro-food, industrial, and artisanal goods recognized for their quality in international markets.

This event is organized by “Tasdir,” a subsidiary of the Safex group, in collaboration with the Algerian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CACI) and the Qatari chamber, the statement concluded.
