Algeria, Qatar Discuss Strengthening Cooperation and Investment Opportunities

Algerian Minister of Trade and Export Promotion, Tayeb Zitouni, held a working meeting with Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani, President of the Qatari Businessmen Association, as part of his official visit to Qatar. The meeting, attended by several notable figures, including Algeria’s Ambassador to Qatar, Saleh Attia, President of the Algerian Economic Renewal Council, Kamel Moula, President of the National Union of Public Contractors, Charaf-Eddine Amara, and CEO of Safex Group, Karim Boukadoum, alongside Qatari businessmen, focused on enhancing economic cooperation between Algeria and Qatar. Discussions centered around the promotion of trade and investment, with an emphasis on partnership opportunities between business leaders from both nations.
The talks also explored investment in large commercial spaces and major distribution and retail centers, with Sheikh Faisal bin Qassim Al Thani expressing strong interest from Qatari businessmen in expanding their investments in this vital sector in Algeria. He praised Algeria’s ambitious projects in this field, which reflect the country’s new economic vision. Minister Zitouni highlighted that, under the guidance of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, Algeria is striving to build strategic partnerships with Qatar to positively impact trade and investment exchanges. He also underscored the significance of large commercial spaces as a key sector for job creation and economic growth. The meeting also covered other promising sectors for investment, such as industry, agriculture, and renewable energy.
